Malawi : The Waterfalls of Machinjiri

This really is off the beaten track. Only the locals now about this place.
The landscape is also pretty typical for this time of year. I would imagine it to be green once the rains come again.
It's a beautiful and quiet place, away from everything else.
I'm really glad they took me here. It was one of the highlights of my vacation. A trip down memory lane.
I was probably three or four years old when I first came here with my late aunt Mariam.
Seeing all the Urban sprawl around Blantyre, I thought this place would have dissapeared too with the years. Luckily, it hasn't. Mustaf, Mundilanji and Caroline
A woman washing her clothes further up stream. She was probably doing pretty much the same thing thirty years ago. It's the winding river and the big granite rocks that I remember the most. A common site over all of Malawi. At any one time, there is always someone doing some washing.
Somewhere down this river is a sock I lost some thirty years ago.
Another common sight along the rivers. Ovens for baking bricks.

Description: It's a place I believed only still existed in my memories. But to my surpise, and after thirty years, it is still there and has been left pretty much untouched.
Location: Malawi
