China : Shangri-La (Zhongdian)

Off to Zhongdian, though it is now officially called Shangri-La Zhongdian is mostly a Tibetan town. Unlike Dali and Lijiang, the old town still had that authentic feel to it. The question is for how long?
China is changing fast, but in cleaning up their cities and making them tourist friendly, part of the charm is lost with it as well.
During the day, the main plain is a market. But as evening sets in, they clean up and make way for the dansers. Music is played from the loudspeakers and many of the locals spend their evening doing a circle dance.

After Yubeng, we returned to Zhongdian which by now started to feel like home. Unfortunatly, we had to say goodbye and took the plane back to Kunming where we would spend our last days in China.
There was a strange atmosphere present as we walked onto the tarmac. A layer of clouds hung so low, you could almost reach up and touch it. Leaving the Himalayas behind us...
