Korean restaurant near our hotel:
Ordering food at a restaurant was usually a bureaucratic affair. As foreigners, we would get the tourist menu which contained photo's of all the dishes.
You would point to the picture of what ever meal you wanted, and one of the two waiters would then look up the aquivelent dish on the chinees menu or what ever came close. The second waiter standing right next to him would then write down the order once it was found.
Dishes are prepared one by one and served immidiatly once they are ready. Usually, the first person to order is the last one to receive his or her dish. And because China has too many chinees people, Each dish is served by a different waiter. Of course, every time a dish was brought to our table, the guessing game could begin. Was this what we actually ordered and who was the one whom ordered it? The Bamboo Monastery (Qjongzhusi):

China is filled with these wonderfully translated signs. This one is my all time favourite. Stone Forest:
Apparantly, this place was once an ocean long before even I was born. When the ocean descided to leave, it left behind a landscape full of strange rock formations. Stone Forest:
While many of the formations have been given names of things they resemble, it is fun to imagine your own. It's like looking at clouds, but with rocks instead.

Here, I see a man with his hands in his pockets leaning against a low wall.
